DWRT Finishes 2019 with the Best Year in Team History

The Dashing Whippets had the best year in team history in 2019!  The team finished tied for or at the highest in the NYRR standings (which can be found here).  Some highlights:

  • Open women: tied for second place with CPTC (best team finish of all time!)
  • Open men: fourth place (tied for the best team finish of all time)
  • Masters women: second place (tied for the best team finish of all time)
  • Masters men: second place (best team finish of all time!)
  • 50+ women: fourth place (only 1 point out of third place!)
  • 50+ men: second place (tied for the best team finish of all time!)

3 members of the team (Grace Bowen, Jessica Chichester, and Ivette Mejia) also qualified for the 2020 United States Olympic Marathon Trials!

The team also had other amazing individual performances, with many members running huge personal records, breaking 3:00 in the marathon, and breaking numerous team records!
