Since we’ve had such great participation in the Tour de Summer so far, especially amongst team members from around the country, we thought we’d profile a few.  If you’d like to register for Stage 4 of the Tour, please do so HERE.  Also, please see our last set of profiles HERE.

Skyler Mosenthal (@skymose)

PRs:  5k – 15:34, 10k – 34:00, Half – 1:14:04, Full – 2:47:48, Steeplechase – 9:36

Favorite Race:  The Brooklyn Half – the race start was about 500ft from my front door when I lived in Brklyn!

Favorite running movie / running scene in a movie: Hands down, the Indiana Jones boulder scene when he outruns the giant boulder THEN outruns the tribe of spear-and-dart throwing natives, swinging from a branch and into the river to escape!

If you could do an easy jog with anyone, who would it be and why: Lin Manuel Miranda – been inspired by his works lately and would love to get to meet the immensely imaginative creator behind “Hamilton.”

How long have you been a Whippet? Joined in 2014! Trained with the crew in Brklyn, now help organize DWRT-Westchester

Barbara Mann (@mann.barbara)

PRs: Marathon: 3:14:23, 1/2 Marathon: 1:28:20, Mile: 5:32

Favorite Race:  Without a doubt the NYC Marathon. I love everything about Marathon Sunday… the insanely early wake up, the anxious waiting in Staten Island, the crowds, the energy, the quiet on the Queensboro bridge, seeing family and friends out there cheering, and the iconic Central Park finish.

Favorite running movie / running scene in a movie:  Phoebe and Rachel running together on Friends. Phoebe says: “I run like I did when I was a kid, cause that’s the only way it’s fun…. I mean didn’t you ever run so fast you thought your legs were gonna fall off?” It reminds me of how my daughters run, and of the joy there can be in running (though I don’t *always* feel that joyful when I’m out there!)

If you could do an easy jog with anyone, who would it be and why: If I could do an easy jog with anyone right now, it would be a big group run with my running crew. There would be a leisurely brunch afterwards, and it would be in a world where masks and social distancing are no longer necessary.

How long have you been a Whippet? I’ve been a Whippet since 2017, and I’ve met so many great people through the team. I’m grateful to be part of such a unique and spirited group of talented runners.

Shelby Hudspith (@shelbylynnlyn)

PRs: 10k: 41:35, half marathon: 1:37:13, full marathon: 3:31:26

Favorite Race: Favorite race is the Birmingham Wine 10k! I ran this race every year when I was living in Alabama with some of my closest friends and was the race I came out with my most recent 10k PR. Plus who doesn’t love free wine at the end of a race?!

Favorite running movie / running scene in a movie: McFarland, USA. Can’t beat a good underdog story!

If you could do an easy jog with anyone, who would it be and why:  If I could run an easy run with anyone it would be my dad. He’s suffered from fibromyalgia the last 5-10 years and can’t move the same way he used to but any quality time outdoors with him is my favorite.

How long have you been a Whippet? I joined Dashing Whippets in the Spring of 2020– right after the stay at home order. I needed a group of NYC runners who were invested in beating the doldrums of quarantine to keep me motivated.

James Stucker (@xc_yamison)

PRs: Mile: 4:32, 5k: 15:59, 10k: 33:28, Half: 1:14:45, Marathon: 2:37:22, Jean Mile: 5:56 (unofficial)

Favorite Race: I think that the 15k is one of my favorites. It’s long enough to be a distance event, but still quick compared to many other races. I’m sad that it’s one of the hardest distances to find!

Favorite running movie / running scene in a movie:  Favorite running movie:  McFarland;   Favorite running scene: Kung Fu Hustle (hilarious)

If you could do an easy jog with anyone, who would it be and why: Jordan Hasay – She was the idol of a lot of runners when I was in high school and college. She showed that short runners are still very competitive.

How long have you been a Whippet?I have been a whippet since 2017.

Chloe Moss (@chloemoss3)

PRs: 5k: 19:04, 10k: 39:50, half: 1:26, full 3:10 (am very far away from this shape currently! Haha)

Favorite Race: The Uganda Marathon- my slowest marathon ever (heat, altitude and insane elevation) but the best life experience ever! During the week athletes camp in a small village in Uganda, and runners spend their time volunteering at local projects before taking on the infamous course on the Sunday.

Favorite running movie / running scene in a movie: Does The Office count? The episode where the office runs a 5k for ‘charity’ and Michael carb loabs on the start line. Gets me every time.

If you could do an easy jog with anyone, who would it be and why:Right now, probably any of my running pals back home (I’m from London and have been unable to visit home since March). Celeb-wise probably someone like Michelle Obama – we could chat about everything and anything and set the world to rights.

How long have you been a Whippet? I think I went to my first session back in ~December
