Please take a moment to review this missive concerning the upcoming XC Club Nationals, December 13, in Bethlehem, PA. While I know many of you will be running Ted Corbitt, if there are some of you looking to participate in a great event next month, please consider signing up! JAK
I am re-sending this message and have included the DWRT Executive Board for this one reason: We have been awarded a $1,000 travel stipend to the event!! The USATF National Office awards a $500 stipend to the winning men’s and women’s open teams at the Association Champs (which DWRT won on 11/9 in Staten Island). This means we can submit up to $1,000 in expenses to the event. This money should cover all of our hotel expenses and potentially gas/ mileage for drivers, renting a van, and other misc expenses.
With that said, we really need the Open teams to commit to the event. We ONLY receive the stipend if we field a team at Nationals and, right now, we only have 4 men and ZERO women signed up – and we need five. I am begging at this point. Let’s get full teams to Nationals!
PLEASE sign up as soon as you can so we can get the stipend process underway. From there, we can discuss who is travelling when and how to get everyone there. With this money, we may now be able to rent a 15-passenger van without any cost to us as individuals. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
