Time Warner Atrium Entrance (map)
Our Tuesday night Central Park training workouts are typically tempo runs or hill repeats. These workouts are usually very well attended with a wide variety of paces.
We will wait 5-10 minutes for Whippets before we start our run. Please show up at the starting point to get the full workout details, including distance, pacing groups, expected run time, and where we plan on meeting at the end. You can expect a typical workout to be between 5 and 8 miles (or less during hill workouts). After our run, we will perform stretches at the designated finish area.
Please note that there is no place to store bags inside Central Park. Pack light, or store your bags at a nearby gym if you are a member. Another option is the New York Running Company at Columbus Circle, which stays open until 9pm: http://www.therunningcompany.net/new-yorks-homepage

When you RSVP, please post your pace time and/or training run distance for the day. You may also use the Talk about this Meetup area to start a discussion.

Scott, any thoughts about the route for the 8 mile steady state? I'll probably meet you guys at 72nd st.
Just to clarify, B includes meeting at Time Warner though, right? Then jogging to 72nd as a warm-up and starting from there. Then doing the steady state in those lower loops?
The Whippet is a friendly and faithful breed, supremely athletic and tenacious by nature but sometimes a little intellectually challenged. It possesses a joyous and playful disposition, although it will often struggle processing complex humor such as irony and sarcasm (especially in the form of spoof multichoice questions). At its very happiest just running in circles.
Hahaha...okay. Commence to start! My sense of humor is not awake yet. Please no more jokes until about 3 pm, please.
I bet they don't have this much fun on the Brooklyn Meetup Wall postings.
Sometimes when students fail an exam, it's the students' fault. But in this case, I think it's the professor's fault.
ALL -- we will meet at Time Warner Center atrium entrance as usual, then jog to 72nd & East Drive, then break into pacing groups at that time.
Recommended workout for Feb. 7...
EXPERIENCED RUNNERS: 6-10M steady state run (longer for marathoners, shorter for 5K specialists). A steady state run is 1M easy then a bunch of miles at half marathon pace + 10-20 sec/mile. Finish with 1M easy.
RUNNERS BUILDING YOUR BASE: 5-6M easy run
