Manhattan Metric Marathon

Amy, Jim, Evan, Mwangi and Adam are going to host a metric marathon.  The meeting point will be the Time Warner Center on 59th and Columbus.  The route can be found here.

Head west from Time Warner, up along the Hudson on the path to near Riverbank, then south again back to Time Warner.  Enter the Park, run up the West side around the top of the park, cut across the park above theReservoir at 96th Street and do an upperloop of the Park again to end at 90th.  This should be 16 total miles.

If you want to do 10 miles, you can stop at Time Warner again or you can do the whole 16 and finish at the Reservoir at 90th Street.  There should be several pace groups at around 7:30, 8:30 and 9:30 per mile.

Hey all, just changed the meetup info to incorporate Scott's suggestion for a metric marathon. Hopefully we'll get a good turnout!

This is a phenomenal turnout! Please post the pace that you'd like to run, as well as the distance, so we can better gauge participation. Thanks!!

is there by any chancea a place to leave bags nearby?

Lindsay, the NY Running Company (Time Warner bldg, 2nd floor) might let you drop off your bag with them. They host weekend runs and usually let people do this.

Even though the Running Company is not open until 10am but someone from the store told me that there will be an employee at the store from 9am and you can get in from the backdoor and leave your bag there.

We had a great turnout today! Thanks to the pace leaders for leading the way, and for everyone else who came out. I saw quite a few new faces! We will definitely keep these runs going! Just a point to note, the RI running Company opens at 10am on Saturdays and they're fine with bag drop offs so that is an option for future runs. 10am Saturdays and 11am on Sundays.

Out of interest did anyone actually get to 26km/16mi? I saw fragments of the group in the park but I couldn't tell who was where in the run. I hit the wall hard at 13 and squeezed out 15mi.
