Great, Russell. I'm doing the 5000 as a training/tempo run (or maybe will skip it) and then am doing the 800 & 1500.
Guess I can't run the 5000 but I'm considering the other 3.. Might be a good place for video, Ben. At least you'll have plenty of opportunities to record Scott if he runs almost 37 laps!
Yikes! for 37 laps, you don't need slow motion, you need time lapse photography! (and it just so happens, there's an app for that)
Indoor track runners! Join us this Thursday at the Armory. Make sure you consider these races to be part of your TRAINING, not COMPETITION -- that is, it's OK to do them at a pace that is fast, but not killer. After tonight we'll have three meets that are more important than this one, so keep it in perspective!
If you'd like to join the races this Thursday at the armory, the cost is $15 per person for up to three events. You also have the option of not paying anything and jogging on a thin strip just outside of the track -- no speedwork is possible, but at least you could get some jogging in while watching the races.
Reminder: Race night tonight! Cost is $15 for runners, free for spectators. Armory Track is at 168th & Ft. Wash -- one block east of 1/A/C subway stop at 168th St & Broadway. You can change in the bathroom but bring a lock (for lockers on third floor) or have a friend to watch your stuff -- petty theft is a problem. Order of events is above -- women always run before men. If you arrive late, you can still register until about 9. Have fun and don't take things too seriously tonight!
5000 meters on a 200m track..this should be interesting...
