ok who is excited? I count myself as excited. I'd like also to figure out some logistics things about getting up there; metronorth should be easy since it is right there so we can all go up together possibly or, was anyone planning to drive? I know that benny also is doing this race.
also, anyone receive materials in the mail or anything, or do we just pick it all up that morning?
Logistics are easy, just take the 6:20am Metro-North train from Grand Central and arrive at Yonkers at 6:51am (race starts at 8am) on Sun 9/19, $13 off-peak r/t (buy at station, not onboard). Schedule: http://as0.mta.info/mnr/schedules/sched_form.cfm![]()

I plan on taking the Metro-North too. Will pick up my bib when I get to the race in the morning! Seems like it's going to be a no frills event.
Jeff: Yonkers is a tiny race. As such, there's no marathon expo. You pick up your bib and race shirt right before the race. As long as we take the MNR there and arrive at 6:51am, we'll be fine. If we miss that train, then it's game over.

In case you didn't know, it's a double loop course (half marathon x2).
Hoy, have FUN everyone in this beautiful scenic run. Good luck to all.
I would love to go and run a good portion of it as a training run some time in the future, let me know.
Good luck guys! Can't wait to hear all about it, especially on the hill portions.

pretty awesome, right?
Kino, since you've run this before, are there any parts of the course that you recall being particularly difficult? Wondering if the hills are really that bad.
Thanks for the link Jeffrey! I'm getting excited for the marathon on Sunday. Too bad Excited != Prepared.
damn that race was so hard. will add something to the "finishing line" discussion board for first of all, congratulations to Sonia for placing 3rd in her division, Patrick for finishing his first marathon, and me and Kino for just finishing the damn thing regardless. And Benny got 3rd in his division too. crazy.

Patrick: Sorry, I didn't see your question until now. Guess you know that pretty much the entire course is difficult. What doesn't kill, makes you stronger mantra?
