Here is a video of the course made by my sister set to the lovely tune "Eye of the Tiger". Check it out!
Jennie, that video looks awesome! It looks like a lot of hills and great views of the Hudson! Can't wait to do the race. I just registered for the 10k and will take it easy so I can do the course twice as part of my long run for that weekend!
this course looks great. but i`ll definitely need a ride to get there.
Great news! We are going to have FREE buses from Manhattan up to the race the morning of the event. I will post details for where to meet for the bus and such as time gets closer.
that's awesome! i hope this will encourage more people to rsvp. we'll post this in our next whippets newsletter.
Yes Joana I'm just not sure sure exactly what the times and locations will be yet. As soon as I know the details I will definitely share them!
Great! I will probably do the race then. It looks beautiful!
Hey guys! The bus will leave from Grand Central at 6:30 (boarding from 6-6:30) and you will most likely get back to the city by 1 at the latest if all goes as planned but any of you are welcome to stay for the day in my hood and take the train back at your leisure (especially if it's a nice day, hopefully!).
Hey Jennie, we may drive. Is there parking near the start? Thanks!
Hey Matt, yes there is plenty of parking right near the start and it's a pretty easy drive, about an hour and 15 minutes from manhattan. I will send out directions as it gets closer.
Hey guys! Let me know if you will need a ride from the city still. If you all can carpool then I will cancel the bus. Looking forward to this!
Hey Jennie, Jenny and I are driving and probably giving Rich, Emi, and one more person a ride. Don't think we can fit anyone else though...
Hi Jennie, I am registered and will need a ride. Maybe a small van??
We're going to have one of those small school buses come down. I just wanted to make sure there would be people who still needed it. It's being donated so it's no cost to any of us. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly guys!
I`m also registered and need a ride. And also i always wanted to ride those yellow school buses. You know, in brazil buses are not yellow. And that better be yellow.
Hey Jennie, I registered and i'll need of ride. Let me know the details and if I can help in any way.
Thanks Mike!
Luciano I won't play you like that, you will get your yellow bus!
Hey Jennie....Matts going to give me a lift so i dont need the bus.... thanks
For anyone taking the bus it will be picking people up at 34th street and 7th avenue (on the corner) on the west side of the street. The bus should be there by 6 and will leave at 6:30 and hopefully have people back to the city around noon. Let me know if you have any questions!
Jim -- I spoke with Jennie last night and she said there should be plenty of space. Register at the web site above to run in the race, then come catch the bus early Saturday morning. Lots of other Whippets will be on board!
thanks, Jennie. See you on the bus!
Sorry guys just got home from work but yes Scott there is still plenty of space! If anyone is still on the fence adn decides to show up to the bus on Saturday that is totally fine, it looks like we're going to have a beautiful day!
Hey guys, let's all try to find each other before the race! I'll be taking this one easy to rest my legs for Sunday's 5th Ave Mile. Don't forget your Whippets jersey if you have one. There'll be food after the race, so let's nosh and hang out afterwards before we all head back to the city. If you can't find us, call me at 781-367-8244.
Hey everyone! Just wanted to let you know to sign up online tonight before 7pm in order to guarantee yourself a tee shirt. They are nice dry fit shirts and I think you'd like them! riverviewrun.eventbrite.com
There will be bagels and apples and drinks after the race and it looks the weather will be amazing.
Just to warn the first hill is pretty tough but any Whippet can handle it!
Can't wait to see you all!
My number is 845-629-3091.
Please call me if you have any questions at all.
Found the bus! North side of 34th Street, between 7th and 8th Ave.
Great photos, Jennie, and congrats to your whole family on a great event!

Sorry that took me so long!
Thanks Matt! We are so excited to host our very first River View Run for PD! My Dad has done such an amazing job with planning especially considering we have never been involved with planning a race. The course is along Route 218 between Cornwall-on-Hudson (our hometown) and West Point. We have a number of great sponsors involved and are hoping it's going to be just a really fun day. As it gets closer I will definitely try and arrange some transportation from the city for anyone interested.
