Central Park Training Run

For our Tuesday night training runs, we meet at 86th and Fifth Avenue. If you're in need of bag check, you can use NYRR for bag check (closes at 8:00pm) or NYSC (at 86th and Lexington) if you're a member.

We will wait 5 minutes for Whippets before we start our run. We split into groups of similar pace and run loops of the reservoir or of Central Park depending on the desired workout (we now have pace leaders - see the RSVP list to make sure a pacer of your pace is coming). After our run, we will perform stretches at Engineers' Gate (90th St and East Drive).

After we've burned those calories, we usually go out for dinner and drinks, so please join us for that if you can!

    Tonight's recommended plan: If you ran Staten Island half, do 3-6 miles very easy. If not, do 4-6 miles at 30sec faster per mile than marathon goal pace. If you ran a marathon this past weekend, stay home! If you ran two, do whatever you want, you're amazing!

    HAHAHA, you're funny Scott. I'm very paranoid about my upcoming 100, so I need to pile in the miles now. 3 straight weeks of 50 to 60 miles leading up to the race...

    Megan, We waited until about 7:10...were looking for you though. Luciano, Jim, Russell and I did the full loop...didn't stick around stretching very long...

    Ok, just realized I have been meeting at the end spot, not the beginning (where everyone meets up on special relay days only) so I might actually be making it to a lot more of these in the future.. :)

    Sorry I missed everyone! I was late and was in my business clothes, just trying to walk for 40 minutes because of sore quads. Saw Luciano, Russell, Jim and Alexis fly by but didn't get to wave them down in time.

    Megan: Sonia & I made that same mistake our first time too. Meeting spot is E 86th & 5th.
    Sucks I had to work late last night! It was great seeing Russell, Joanna, & Alejandra afterward at Trivia though. Gael Pub is conveniently located near our training run and to Luke's Lobster & Shake Shack, =). We should make this a regular thing, Tue 9pm trivia night.
