For our Tuesday night training runs, we meet at 86th and Fifth Avenue. If you're in need of bag check, you can use NYRR for bag check (closes at 8:00pm) or NYSC (at 86th and Lexington) if you're a member.
We will wait 5 minutes for Whippets before we start our run. We split into groups of similar pace and run loops of the reservoir or of Central Park depending on the desired workout (we now have pace leaders - see the RSVP list to make sure a pacer of your pace is coming). After our run, we will perform stretches at Engineers' Gate (90th St and East Drive).
After we've burned those calories, we usually go out for dinner and drinks, so please join us for that if you can!
The October 5 workout has been reclassified to a "normal" workout (instead of a Relay Workout) because of all the other stuff going on -- we want to avoid speedwork this time to prevent injuries. The next relay workout will be on Nov. 2.
I will be doing hill repeats today in the Harlem Hill if anyone is interested...
On Tuesday 10/5 we'll have a smaller-than-usual group for our Central Park run because so many people are tapering for this weekend's marathons. We'll probably split into a long group (6 miles via the big CP loop) and a short group (4 miles via the 102nd/72nd loop).
