This one is supposed to be fast! Register here:
There's also a half marathon, team relay, and a 5k. RSVP soon and we can get dinner the night before and try to coordinate accommodations!
I will register very soon.
The price increase isn't anytime soon.
Neither the Half nor Full are sold out yet.
PLEASE USE THIS $5 DISCOUNT CODE:
HMF2050
It's on behalf of one of my running clubs: 50 & DC Marathon Group
I officially registered just now.
The $5 discount code worked (HMF2050), bringing the total registration fee down to $91.34.
I'm in for half - but thinking full? Is it bad to run this one, and then run the NYC in November?
I tend not to get injured, but would think 4 weeks is plenty of time to recover. I ran my first 3 marathons within a 60-something day timespan and PRed in each successive one, if that means anything.
it's not bad to do this and then NYC. Actually, with 4 weeks inbetween you should probably add another one
Hey Anna, I haven't looked into lodging yet, but will soon. I'll keep you all updated. Is anyone else interested in a relay with Anna?

It looks like the cheapest is the Sheraton and it's only 3 blocks away! I'm going to stay there Friday night. I encourage everyone to sign up ASAP in case it fills up.
Just reserved a room at the Sheraton, might be filling up since the rooms with king beds are all out...
Also, does anyone want to do a relay with Anna?
Matt: The Sheraton you are referring to is the one at 100 East River Drive? Just wanted to confirm, thanks!
Hmmm. I believe so. It's the one at the bottom of the accommodations link below. Are people just staying Friday night or Saturday too??
Okay, I've confirmed, that's the one. I'll be staying both nights. Marathon discount link reservation is: http://www.starwoodmeeting.com/StarGroupsWeb/booking/rese...![]()

I missed the boat! "Thank you for inquiry. At his time there are no longer rooms available for this event."
Oh, shoot. There are a couple other ones that are close on that list that aren't so expensive. Everyone else should get a room soon too!!
Hideki, are you or any of your friends in need of roommates? I'm not, but can find out if other people going want to share the cost of a room.
Also, how are people getting up there? I'm driving, but may head up there earlier. Should I make reservations for dinner the night before? Not sure what the prevailing thought is on pasta the night before a race these days. I think I've heard different theories recently.
I'll be driving up. Pasta, rice, anything carby is good for the night before.
As for roommates, I think I'm good for now. Thanks though!
Got a room at the Homewood Suites on Asylum St. (sounds nice). Hopefully it's close to the start. I have reservations until Sunday.
Matt - If you're making reservations, I'm down for 2 (Stephanie's coming)
I book a room at the Hilton (315 Trumbull St), $150/night using code: "ING". For Fri night our room is packed, but we have space for 2 more for Sat night. LMK, if interested.
Pretty Sure I'm in for 26.2 now. I think I can drive there right? I live 10 minutes away.
Yeah, you can drive there. You should check the road closures and make sure to get there pretty early though.
I can't let you b*tches have all the fun, right? CT Represent!
Hey all, I haven't reserved a restaurant yet. What do you think of this place Friday night: http://www.hottomatos.net/
Let me know so I know how many to reserve for. When are you all expecting to get in? I'll probably get in by 6 or so on Friday evening.
Place looks nice. Thanks for finding a place. Me and Steph are in.
Make sure to be prepared to take your mile splits if you want them. It looks like they only have clocks at miles 10, 13.1, 20, 24 and 5K & 10K marks.
Looks like the weather may be ok for the marathon. The 10 day weather forecast has the high in the mid-60s through the middle of next week and 70 by Thursday. I hope it gets back down to the low 60s or below by Saturday morning!
Is there anyway I can track you guys in real-time so I can pretend I'm there watching you all?
Yeah dude. I signed up to have my progress pushed as a Facebook status update. Unfortunately they'll only track at the 10, 13, and 20 mile marks.
This is the first marathon I've heard of that provides live tracking via Facebook Connect (posts updates on your fb wall). Pretty cool.
Hilton would not let me cancel my Sat to Sun night stay. I get to check in at 12pm noon, so please feel free to use the shower in my room to freshen up right after the race (for all you who get kicked out of your hotels on Sat morning). Guess I'll be crashing in Hartford and making the 3 hour drive to Scranton at 2am. AWESOME.
Good luck everybody!! Can't wait to hear all about it!!!
Thanks for the well wishes, should be a blast. I predict I will finish an hour (maybe 2) after Matt.
@Kino - Also the Facebook Connect linkup is rad. I hope it works, as opposed to me manually updating it like I had to last year so people could find me!
good luck tomorrow and dont forget to smile for the pics!!!
Run fast and have fun!!!
The Facebook Connect linkup didn't work for me, FAIL. Did it work for anyone? I haven't heard of it working for any of the Hartford runners.
Yosuke and I have officially registered! Has anyone else yet?
