For our Tuesday night training runs, we meet at 86th and Fifth Avenue. If you're in need of bag check, you can use NYRR for bag check (closes at 8:00pm) or NYSC (at 86th and Lexington) if you're a member.
We will wait 5 minutes for Whippets before we start our run. We split into groups of similar pace and run loops of the reservoir or of Central Park depending on the desired workout (we now have pace leaders - see the RSVP list to make sure a pacer of your pace is coming). After our run, we will perform stretches at Engineers' Gate (90th St and East Drive).
After we've burned those calories, we usually go out for dinner and drinks, so please join us for that if you can!
Scott - I'll probably run around the bottom of the park and meet you all at Cat Hill around 7:15 if that's when you'll be there. I tend to miss the Reservoir meetup!
Hi,
For those who leave their stuff at NYSC, any chance I can please store my stuff in your locker? I usually drive to city and leave my stuff in car but am unable to do so at the moment. please let me know.
Hey rod, your best bet may be to leave stuff at nyrr. That's what I'm going to do. Do you have a lock?
Megan and all -- great! FYI I'll be doing the hill workout rain or shine, as long as there's no visible lightning. Also FYI, there's a couple of orchestras playing in Central Park tonight, so the roadway may be a little crowded, but I'm hoping we can make it work.
Matt, I do have a lock but i don't think we're gonna be done by 8...I'll figure it out though
Rod, Matt, if the weather holds, I'll be at the nysc at 86th and Lex at around 6:45 if you need to stash your gear
I plan on starting my run early today. I anticipate getting to NYRR at about 5:30-5:45 and starting my run about 6:10. I will be running the 4 mile course for this weekend's race. Afterwards, I will go the 86th Street meeting point and I will do a bit of the hill workout, but cut it short to make sure that I get back to NYRR to get my things. Rod, I can grab your bag from NYRR if you want so you can complete the hill workout.
Awesome, Denley i'll come by around 6:45 and check for you, if not I'll drop my bag at NYRR...Thanks Joey!
gonna try and go earlier (hopefully at a time where it's not raining) from the westside. hope everyone has a good run!
Here's my plan for Tuesday's hill workout: Easy warmup (~1 mile) to bottom of Cat Hill. Then 3x400m up Cat Hill at faster than 5K pace, jogging back between repeats. After third uphill, rest at top of hill, then do 3x800m down and back up Cat Hill, maintaining same pace (5K or better) coming up the hill as going down. This will be good conditioning to help pass other runners on the uphills in the second half of any race.
