Central Park (Mid-park near the Bandshell) (map)
This is one in a series of Ragnar Relay Group training runs, specially targetted to the 12 of us who will be doing the 178-mile relay on May 14-15. Sunday workouts are for hill work, long runs and general team bonding.
April 25's workout is in Central Park immediately after we finish our group volunteering for the More Half Marathon. It's difficult to know our exact starting time because it depends on how long it takes to complete our duties, so if you're not volunteering, please call Scott at [masked] or Rich at [masked] for an update on the timing.
Volunteers, plan on meeting at the Central Park Bandshell (72nd St.) after your shift is over. The plan is to do hill work plus build some base mileage.
Patrick, Mike, Jessica, Sylvain, Paul -- sign up, you have no excuse to avoid this. It will be so worth it when we do the Ragnar Relay in three weeks! Everyone else is welcome too. The plan is a hill workout with some fast repeats on Cat Hill, followed by a four-mile loop that ambitious runners can do twice if they want to build mileage.
Details on meeting date/time have been emailed and posted: http://www.dashingwhippets.org/messages/boards/thread/899...![]()

I forgot to say that (just like our volunteering), I'll be doing this training run rain or shine. If it rains, it's good practice because the Farmers Almanac says that Ulster County has gotten rain in 3 of the last 5 years in mid-May. (In 2009 it was very rainy on May 15.)
all the rain talk makes me sad. IT WON"T RAIN ON OUR RELAY PARADE!!
Great workout, Scott; glad I met up with you and Patricia!
Yay Scott! After having been inspired by my fellow Whippettes on their triumphant 13.1 you took that inspiration and turned it into something productive. I would do this workout again.
Good job, both of you. We're going to rock the hills in our next races!
I am beyond impressed that you guys still ran afterwards. I was shaking and my feet were numb.
I'll be recovering from the half!
