We are going to start doing training runs on the East River and meet at the track in East River Park east of the FDR at East 6th Street. This will give us the flexibility to do speed workouts or distance runs up the East River or over the bridges.
An example of a typical workout would be a one mile warmup, 4-6 mile repeats at the pace determined here: http://www.mcmillanru... with a 3 minute rest, and a one mile cooldown. I will post the workout a few days before each Thursday so everyone can figure out their pace.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
If anyone is running the Colon Cancer race on Sunday, I'm heading up to NYRR on Thursday around noon for bib pick-up. If you'd like me to get yours and bring it to this training run, send me an email (with your shirt size) by Thursday morning.

- interesting article about how the recession and job losses have led to a surge in marathon participation...thought it was inspiring
Did 10 repeats (400s) with Tommy, Fanny, Joana, and Rob. Good job, team!
We'll do 400s today - 8 to 10 repeats with 2:30 rest between each. Use the McMillan calculator and use the Middle Distance or Long Distance speed workout pace. Let me know if you have any questions.
