Prospect Park Training Run

For you Brooklynites and those that want a change of scenery for their runs, we are doing Prospect Park runs for the new year on Sunday mornings. We'll meet at Grand Army Plaza and do loops of the park -- one loop of Park Drive is 3.35 mi. There are also a bunch of trails to run on in case we want to mix things up.

Here are details about running in Prospect Park:

This weather sucks! I'll see how it is tomorrow morning, but if it's miserable out like it is now, we may cancel the run. I'll send an email out tomorrow morning at around 8:00.

Hey Matt, the Brooklyn Half course sounds like a good change. Did you have a specific pace in mind? Mine is: slow. If I come out, I'd be working the 12 miles in to the middle of my 20.

Cool! How about 7:45 to 8:00 pace? I promise not to go too much faster than that if we are doing 12.

Sounds good! Just don't leave me behind because I'll get lost and end up in Staten Island. But I won't be showing up if there's a steady rainfall.

If you guys are going to do it let me know. Now, faster than 7:45 for 12 and I'll die, but you can always leave me behind. Would be driving from Williamsburg, so would want to know the call by 9:00 or so.

Sorry, I changed my mind about this one cuz I'm currently at my sister's house hiding out from the rainstorm so I made plans with her for tomorrow =( Have fun and be safe tomorrow (careful of tree limbs)! Will see you guys at the next run...and at the NYC Half for those doing it!!

It doesn't seem to be raining at the moment so the run is on! See everyone at 10.

Sorry I bailed on you guys. The rain was hitting me in the eyes and shifting my contacts all over the place. I was running blind. Hope you were able to get in your 12.

The rain wasn't so bad, and it's good practice for dealing with less than ideal conditions. But I had to drop out after one loop due to very sore hamstrings from Saturday's race.

Good run. Rained a bit. Hill at the end took it out me. Thanks to Matt for pushing me along.
