This should be a fun race - Kara Goucher and Paula Radcliffe are running it six months pregnant!
The race starts outside the park:
It goes up the west side and down the east side so you get to go down Cat Hill. I'm not sure if that means the west side will be flatter since it's on Central Park West instead of inside the park, but that might be the case.
Try to meet 30 minutes before the start at baggage to warm up and get in corrals!
Megan will meet the women's team near baggage 30 minutes before the gun goes off. Kick butt!
This race has history that can be inspiring. The documentary Run for Your Life has a bit about it and was on iTunes (or you can get the DVD obviously) http://www.fredlebowmovie.com/index.html?section=trailer![]()

That's a great movie to watch. I own the DVD so if anyone wants to borrow it, let me know!
Snaps to all the guys who'll come out to run and cheer! I am sure we could use it and would love it.
me and takashi will be running from queens and meeting ya'll at the start.
For all guys planning on watching the race and running counterclockwise, remember that the course starts outside the park. I'm not exactly sure how that will affect viewing while running. Good luck everyone!
interesting start location. hmmmm. well, we'll be around and figure it out. rich, we will all still meet around 8:30 near baggage?
hey jeff, that's the plan. check out this video to learn about the history of the mini 10k and get pumped for the race! http://blip.tv/file/3733926/
i'm totally going to try to find all of you whippettes and cheer you all on.
For those running, Let's meet at baggage (looks like in the Sheep Meadow across from the 67th St entrance - http://www.nyrr.org/races/2010/mini/pdf/mini10k_map.pdf![]()
) at 8:30am and warm up and get psyched to run our fastest!! :)
wow rich, what typically bad music to that video; must all endurance sports videos have the same soundtrack? very cool retrospective tho. see ya'll tomorrow!

Was thinking all the guys not running could run the opposite way of the race and cheer. RSVP here if you are interested!
