I won't be joining you all for Chicago, but here is my recap for the 2008 Chicago Marathon:

Hopefully, it can help you guys out. 2007 & 2008 were scorchers and 2009 was freezing, so the weather is a crapshoot.

T-minus 13 days till Chicago! If you guys haven't submitted your name to me to be included on the team roster, please let me know by tonight. Also, anyone want to meet up while in Chicago? I've never been, but will be getting in Friday morning. I'd be up for a carbo-loading dinner or a group expo trip. Let me know if any of you are interested. Charlotte -- could you recommend a dinner place?

You know what they say: lunch the day before the marathon should be the big carbo-loading meal. I recommend the Original Pancake House: http://www.yelp.com/biz/original-pancake-house-chicago It is incredible and the portions are huge.

I think when I signed up I signed up as a dashing whippets member, and I remember sending my info to someone a couple months ago. But if you still need more info, let me know. I'd totally love to run under the whippets banner.

Just registered the team! We're registered as a Blue Team, which the form states: "Blue Division is designed to foster healthy competition between friends, family, co-workers, or running club buddies." Should be fun if we actually place!

Not specific to Chicago but I love Maggiano's. Could be a good dinner spot pre race carb loading since they take large groups. original pancake house is awesome too. Great brunch place - their baked apple pancake is delicious! Other places to check out while in town: deep dish pizza (Lou Malnati's or Gino's East) and hot dogs (Hot Doug's or Portillo's). Let me know what you guys have planned or want to do. will definitely meet up and hang out!

Hey Gang. Did we decide on a good plan for hitting the expo and loading up on food the day before?

Hey Andy, that sounds like a good plan. How does 3pm expo and 5-5:30pm dinner reservations sound for people? I'll see if I can find something near the Hilton where the expo is, maybe Maggiano's? E-mail me if you're interested -- rhsieh@gmail.com!

Well crap, I just realized the expo isn't at the Hilton and it's farther south. Talked to Patrick and we're going to do dinner on Saturday night at Volare at 5:30pm. It's close to the hotel we're staying at the Sheraton. Let us know if you'd like to join us! http://www.yelp.com/biz/volare-chicago

Does anyone know if this will be televised in NY? What channel? I can't find it in the the Time Warner cable TV guide.

Tommy -- you can watch it on nbcchicago.com I think.

Sadly, TV stations don't really care much about televising races. NYC will not show anything other than the NYC Marathon, and they only show elites and celebs, and the telecast is only for a couple of hours.
