Do the Cherry Tree either as an individual "hard core" 10-mile runner, or as a member of a 3-person relay team.

When and where do we register?
whoops, here's the link: http://www.pptc.org/pptc_cherry_tree_2010.php![]()
it's capped at 900 and internet registration ends 2/17. we should solidify the relay teams by next week (~2/4-ish).
Hey Maritza, registration and race details can be found here: http://pptc.org/pptc_cherry_tree_2010.php![]()
. We haven't hashed out the logistics yet as far as who on the team wants to do the race as a relay...
I happen to be the race director. If you have any questions or issues just ask.
oh, yeah, i can do relay as well -- but if for some reason that doesn't work, i'll run the 10.
Looks like Scott, Sarah & I are doing a relay together. It's gonna be a fun one!!
Gary, Patrick and I are all signed up to do the relay (Team Name: Meetup HQ Crew (Dashing Whippets RT))!
Two-thirds of team "Whippet Good" is going to do a pre-race jog of the Prospect Park loop on WEDNESDAY Feb. 17 starting at around 6:30. Call or message me if you want to join up: 646-496-2312.
Team Whippet Good!?! Fantastic! Can't wait. I'll bring the Devo Hats.
Kay, Benny, and I are on a team! Maritza and Erin may still need a partner if anyone else wants to do a relay. Let me know!
Me, myself, and I will be 'The Whip'...it's the singular form of whippet
anyone doing early pickup of numbers? If so, can you please pickup my number and bring it to the start. I can't make it to Brooklyn this week and the race day pickup is at Bishop Ford High School. I don't know where that is in relation to the start. The early pickup is:
In Person Registration & Early Pickup:
2/18 and 2/19 4-7 p.m. and 2/20 3-6 p.m. at Slope Sports, 70 Seventh Avenue, Park Slope.
Josh -- I live two blocks away from Slope Sports so I can pick up your number. If anyone else would like me to get their number, just e-mail me if you'd like me to do so and I'll have your bibs at the start.
Is Prospect Park on this continent? Can one of you Brooklynites send map location of meeting point?
I?ll be leaving Astoria around 8/8.30am by car if any one dwells in the neighborhood and want a lift let me know.
The site says: "Start is 200 yards south of Center Drive on the inner loop roadway. Enter the park at Bartel Pritchard Square and walk south on the inner loop roadway." I haven't figured out a good meeting spot, but we'll most likely be near the outdoor bag check area or starting line. I'll send out those details on Friday. Here's a link to where Bartel Pritchard Square is: http://www.dashingwhippets.org/venue/1030555/![]()

"Baggage check will be provided ... outdoors adjacent to the start/finish line." Also -- URGENT INFO FOR ANYONE COMING BY SUBWAY -- this weekend the F/G train is not running to the closest subway stop (15th & Prospect Park West/Southwest). You can get a shuttle bus at Jay St. or catch the 2/3 or Q to much-further-away stops.
Also, for Sylvain and anyone else who's interested, here's a map of the course as of 2008 If you zoom out, it will help you with driving directions. http://www.mapmyrun.com/run/united-states/ny/brooklyn/587...![]()

Everyone who is signed up is going to get an instruction email tonight. It will have a map
Damn the subway! Now it will take me ages to get there :(.
I've never run the Prospect park loop, a course summary would be awesome. Like the ones you guys wrote up for the CP 4miler, where to expect hills etc... Thanks!
Jess -- you're just doing one loop, right? You'll be starting on the west side of the park and doing a quarter-mile that goes gently downhill, then three-quarters flat, then a mile of steady uphill. (The first half mile isn't so bad, but the second half mile is a killer uphill to the highest point in the park.) The third mile is rolling hills, and the last part of the loop (toward the start/finish) is a nice downhill. All in all I find it a challenging course....
Thanks Scott! Where did you get the Subway info, I'm looking online and it says no advisories for the F. MTA is so confusing!!!

Click on the "F" and enter the date of 2/21/2010...
Yeah im just going to take the train to Jay St and then take the B75 from there. Should be coming through the Jay St stop at about 830 if anyone wants to wait at the stop and ride the bus together! haha, its whatever, we'll all make it there somehow!
For the Story on the F train...

If you have not signed up already you still can, but we ran out of "goody bags"
I'm giving up on public transportation. I'll be catching a cab from 9th street on the west side. If anyone wants to split the cab with me, let me know.
I will be coming from Queens, Bayside. If anyone needs a ride from Bayside I can give you a ride.
Does anyone know about the parking situation around that area? I would drive too, but I heard parking is bad. Any suggestions on where to?
Josh -- what's your phone number? I might take you up on the cab share but won't know until Sat night. (No weekend email access.) My number is 646-496-2312. Ben -- yes, parking is bad all around the park. When my friends have driven, they've eventually found spaces on one of the numbered streets (9-16+) that go off Prospect Park West. Good luck.
If anyone still needs a bib pickup. I'm going at 4 today. Let me know....
scott, benny decided to drive...i'm going to catch a ride with him

I can't guarantee parking but, I would recommend parking by Bishop Ford. The front of the school faces the trench of the Prospect Expressway and Green-wood Crematory is behind the school. Usually losts of spots on a Sunday moring
We've made reservations for brunch at Johnny MacK's after the race at 12:30pm: http://www.yelp.com/biz/johnny-macks-brooklyn![]()
See you all there!
I'd love to do it as a relay. When you RSVP, let us know if you want to do a relay or solo and if you already have partners.
