Wow, thanks to Rich and Matt. Let's make this first Queens run great! Queens represents!!!

Weather report says it will be very cold morning, and numbers of not Queens whippets expressed their interests to this training run, it might be a good idea to start from my apartment building. So that you can come with warm clothes and leave it in my apt. And actually there's no good meeting spot in LIC anyway.

And we're going to run the following course. As we discussed on the board, it starts from LIC, running up Vernon Blvd to Roosevelt Island Bridge, then one loop for Roosevelt Island, coming back to Queens, and finishing at Astoria Park. 7.3 miles run. We'll do stretch at the park and walk back to the Subway station.

We'll meet at Lobby of my Apartment building at 10 am. We'll probably finish around 11:30 am at Astoria Park. We can go to Brunch after that.

Again, it'll be very cold day. Please make yourself warm and let's start the new Queens run!

Matt: We are starting a training run in Queens. I'm not sure of the details. Takashi, feel free to run with it! (i.e. when and where to meet, etc.)

The course looks awesome and it's really easy for me to get there as I'm near the 7 and it will probably be easier to get there than CP. I want to be 100% before I start my training for the half in march. Hopefully by next week.

    •  Great run yea we did got a little scattered, the cold was definitely a factor. Thank's Takashi for starting the Queens Whippets chapter. I hope for many more run and meeting more members.
    •  Had a great time! Sorry we lost you guys. For some reason, probably combination of cold weather and running the bridge first not warmed up, my knee started seizing badly on the Island. Jen's was hurting too, so we decided to go back. Had completely lost you guys as we were deciding what to do. Hope you got our message! Still got 6 miles in, so we were happy.
    •  it was good, but with such a small group, hard to keep the pack together; I didn't think our pace would be that off but we definitely splintered at points which is, too bad. it must be one of the inherent things with running one of these things. I felt bad that we lost track of Jessica and Jennifer but . . . we tried. I'm sure this issue comes up all the time. personally, I had a great time though.
    •  My hairs got frozen and it was super cold, but it was a nice run! Let's do it again.
