FYI--We closed early and it took me a REALLY long time to get home on the 1. The 1 and A/C is being extra finicky in uptown Manhattan. Be prepared and maybe cushion in some extra time to get up there. (also, that mean's i'm not coming to cheer. still way sick and don't want to do that trip again. good luck and have fun!!!)

nice video! what are rules for 10000m relay? running lanes? relay zone? are runners assigned lanes based on the position of the team's previous runner when he/she is halfway around the track?

Rich, Patrick and I have been practicing at the office. I think we got it down. I might get some pine tar for my hands though, make sure the exchange goes smoothly...

Tonight's relay will involve 49 baton hand-offs! Please review this video: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=16079992976167612... Whoever drops has to buy drinks at the bar. ;-)

Ok so I just saw jess and she told me the relay is 200m 5x. Noone told me it was that much. I hurt myself on Sat and I really am not prepared to do speedwork. I can go to the ragner relay meeting instead since I work around there. But I honestly wanted to go for an easy run in the beginning of the track thing and cheer bennigans and the whippets.

Oh, forgot to count Joanna - Benny and I can both be alternates and plan on running the 1500 and 800 instead.

Just wanted to make sure, people interested in the relay are Rich, Megan, Alejandra, Scott, Mark, Ben, Patty, Patrick, Brendan, Alex, Josh, and me. Josh mentioned that he wouldn't mind not doing it and I could just do the 1500 and the 800. Should we just say the first ten people listed above will be on the relay and I'll be an alternate if someone doesn't show up?

Am I counted as part of the 10? I can never catch a break. If you need me I'll do it but I'm wearing lip gloss and I better not hear anything about it. Scott, Can we go early to do a warm up run?

What is our final number? if we have more than 10 people for the relay, I'll sit it out. There is a meeting about Ragner at the same time that I'd like to check out.

RICH/MATT -- I have to arrive late to the track meet due to personal thing I gotta take care of after work. I promise to be there. Can you cover my entry fee if necessary? Also, I'll be bringing a lock from home -- there are lockers on the track level in the back area (in the corner near the shot put area), so I can store anyone's stuff.

Megan -- please shoot me your USPS mailing address so I can Fedex you an engraved invitation. GIRL, we so want you on the team, what are you waiting for? Be like Mark and Patty -- DO IT. PS, I'm not in charge and it's not my decision, I'm just a pretend dictator.

Is Armory track 200m or 400m? Is the track on East River 400m?

It was a lot of fun doing the track races. Patrick, Benny and I did the 800m and I think I finished in 2:37. Then we rocked the 10x5x200m relay in 28:48 (4:38mm pace!). Really proud of our team of Scott, Alex, Mark, Patty, me, Benny, Johnny, Masako (!), Levett and Patrick. You guys all rock!
    •  i was not planning to run today but ended up running the relay..many people who said yes to the relay did not show up..!! i think commitment is kind of important...the relay was really hard and fun! Our team did great!
    •  Amazing Meetup. So proud of the team for competing and giving our all. It's all I've been thinking about all day. Just so intense and awesome. Oh, and reminding Patrick all day that I was faster then him has been fun too ;) Big thanks to Johnny for bringing snacks/drinks and to Pamela and Joanna for cheering us on. Masako stepping up was epic. Felt like I was going to die, but really can't wait to do it again. Great experience.

MAJOR PROPS to Masako for stepping in at the last minute, and to everyone else who committed to the relay and then actually did it. It was a blast and I'd love to do it again. Thanks also to Pam and Joanna for being such awesome supporters.
